It’s been too long since you’ve taken a much-needed vacation, and this holiday season is going to be the perfect time for many people. The kids are on a break from school, you have vacation days built up for work, and the Christmas season has everyone in a cheerful mood. The only downside is the snow and freezing temperatures that can ruin your good time. Luckily, there are plenty of locations in the U.S that stay pretty warm, even during the winter. Here are a few of the best choices when it comes to choosing a warm winter vacation destination.
Hawaii
Pack your stockings and Hawaiian shirts, because you’re spending Christmas in Honolulu! Hawaii is widely known for its beauty and exoticness. With the coldest possible temperatures only dipping into the low 60’s in February, you can bet the beaches will be habitable at nearly any point in the year. Tour any of the lovely islands that make up the state, attend a luau, watch fire dancers and hula dancers at a night show, go snorkeling, or ride the waves of the ocean while you surf! You can even go hiking up to volcanoes where you can see the hardened obsidian and feel the heat of lava from a safe distance–just be sure to wear the appropriate clothing, as it will be hot and you’ll be doing a lot of walking or biking. Failing to wear the correct footwear can lead to developing bunions, in which case you’d need a medical professional, like Northwest Surgery Center, to cure it. There are lots of cultural attractions where you can soak in the native’s way of life and get some perspective while enjoying the sun. Stick a straw in a coconut and relax, you’re on vacation!
Florida
There’s a reason so many people retire to Florida, and a large part of it has to do with the amazing weather. The state remains warm throughout the year with average winter temperatures ranging from 65 to 75 degrees, along with particularly humid summers, so you can rest easy in knowing you won’t get snowed on if you travel there for your winter vacation. There’s also a plethora of activities to keep you busy, such as relaxing on the Gulf Coast beach, snorkeling, visiting zoos, and exciting nightlife. If you enjoy thrill rides and amusement parks, this is one of the best places to be. Head on over to Orlando and check out Universal Studios and Walt Disney World, as well as Busch Gardens in Tampa. They don’t call it the Sunshine State for nothing!
California
Making our way to the other side of the country, we have the giant state of California. Because the state has such a far reach, the temperature will drop the further north you travel, but for the most part, it will remain warm to luke-warm, with most winter temperatures ranging from around 65 to 70 degrees Fareneight, and rarely drops below 55. Like Florida, California also has some of the greatest amusement parks, such as Disneyland and Universal Studios. There are also plenty of sights to see, like The Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, the San Diego Zoo, and Alcatraz Island. Consider catching some waves at the beach or touring Hollywood while you’re there, too!
Have a Good Trip!
Now all you have to do is decide which destination is perfect for you! These are all great options for staying warm during your winter vacation, but there are also plenty of other warm locations within the states, like Arizona, Texas, and Georgia. If you choose to fly outside the country, your options are even more plentiful. Whatever you choose, the most important thing to remember is to enjoy yourself.
